Did
you know that Neck and Back Injuries account for 90% of most of
the injuries occurring at work? Who better to see for these specific
type of injuries than a Chiropractor?
Work injuries can be devastating, both physically and financially.
Everyone gains when an injured worker is safely back on the job.
Our primary goal is to get our patients back into the workforce,
however, never before they are actually physically prepared. It
is important to receive proper care following a work injury, not
only to stop the pain, but to rehabilitate the affected area. Without
proper healing, it's more likely that a work injury could later
reoccur. We're here to offer the counsel and treatment you need
to get you back to wellness.
Research studies sponsored by over a dozen state governments have
proven time and time again that chiropractic is over twice as effective
at getting injured workers back to work with half the disability
and at half the cost. If you are the employer, it would only make
sense that you should require all injured workers to be seen by
a chiropractor first.
In many cases, your chiropractic care may be free of charge to you.
If you are injured while working, you must first appropriately report
to your employer. This action must be taken as soon as possible
after the injury. The staff at Burtis Chiropractic Center will fill
out all the claim forms, and process your claim. If you need time
off work, we can communicate with your employer, so they know your
intention is to return to work as soon as you can safely do your
job.
Back pain and repetitive motion injuries are the biggest cause of
pain problems and work absenteeism and the largest expense for companies
in the workers compensation arena. Repetitive motion injuries include
the well-known carpal tunnel syndrome, epicondylitis(elbow tendonitis),
and shoulder and neck problems. Any motion that is repeated over
and over again can cause injury or pain.
If you are experiencing pain from sitting at a desk, repeating the
same movements at work, or back injury from lifting or other motions,
Dr. Burtis can help. Back injuries are an on-going risk in many
work environments, especially those that include lifting and/or
twisting or other repetitive motions that involve the back or back
strain.
Other injuries that are common include: knee, hip and joint injuries,
rotator cuff injuries, and a variety of back and neck sprain/strains.
Due to the physical nature of their jobs and the weight of the uniforms
and utility belts, many Police Officers and Firefighters suffer
from back and neck sprains/strains and sciatica.
The goal with all work-related injuries treated at Burtis Chiropractic
Center is efficient and effective treatments that alleviate pain
and restore the patient to comfortable and pain-free functioning.
